We sincerely appreciate your trust and confidence in Hana Financial Group.

Hana Financial Group (the “Group”) may share the information of customers between entities, subsidiaries, and affiliates within the Group in accordance with the Enforcement Decree of the Financial Holding Companies Act. Please note the following regarding such use of information.

Article 48, Section 2 of the Financial Holding Companies Act (Provision and Management of Customer Information)

※ Notwithstanding Article 4, Section 1 of the Act on Real-Name Financial Transactions and Guarantee of Secrecy and Articles 32 and 33 of the Use and Protection of Credit Information Act, financial holding companies may provide financial transaction information or data (hereinafter the “Financial Transaction Information”) pursuant to Article 4 of the Act on Real-Name Financial Transactions and Guarantee of Secrecy, and personal credit information (hereinafter the “Personal Credit Information”) determined by a Presidential Decree passed to Article 32, Section 1 of the Use and Protection of Credit Information Act, to affiliated financial holding companies for credit risk management and internal management as prescribed by a Presidential Decree.

  • Scope of information provided.
  • Processing methods for customer information (eg encryption, etc.)
  • Separate storage of customer information
  • Period and purpose of customer information usage
  • Deletion of customer information after the usage period
  • Other matters prescribed by a Presidential Decree for strict management of customer information

※ An investment trader or an investment broker passed to the Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act, such as a subsidiary of a financial holding company, may provide information (hereinafter "Gross Securities Information") prescribed in any one of the following paragraphs to a parent financial holding company, in accordance with the Customer Information Provision Procedures, for credit risk management and internal management as prescribed by a Presidential Decree, with respect to the information regarding a consignor's funds or securities deposited via the similar investment trader or securities investment broker for the purpose of trading in securities.

  • Total deposit amount.
  • Total securities deposited.
  • Total deposited securities by type.
  • Other information published if deemed relevant by the Financial Services Commission passed to Paragraphs 1 through 3.

Hana Financial Group has established and operates the Privacy Policy to use and share customer information among entities, subsidiaries, and affiliates within the Group.

This provision and use of customer information is designed to eliminate inconvenience in financial transactions and provide more satisfactory financial services to customers. To prevent possible side effects, we have stipulated restrictions on the types and recipients of such information, and established a system for the strict management of information.

Types of Customer Information Provided

1. Financial transaction information or data passed to Article 4 of the Act on Real-Name Financial Transactions and Guarantee of Secrecy.

2. Personal credit information passed to Article 32, Section 1 of the Use and Protection of Credit Information Act and Article 28, Section 1 of the corresponding Enforcement Decree.

  • Specific credit information for identifying a principal in existence including name, address, resident registration number, alien registration number, residence report number, passport number, gender, nationality, and occupation.
  • Information for identifying the contents of a principal's transactions such as names or trade names of the parties involved, transaction type, period, amount, and limit with respect to commercial transactions including loans, guarantees, provisions of collateral, checking accounts (including family checking account), credit cards, financing, and facility rentals.
  • Information for determining the credit rating of a personal credit information principal such as amounts and dates of occurrence/resolution, delinquency, bankruptcy, and proxy payments in connection with commercial transactions or disorderly credit conduct such as deception, fraud, or other unlawful schemes.
  • Information for determining the credit transaction capacity of a personal credit information principal such as total assets, liabilities, income, and tax payment records in connection with commercial transactions.
  • Information for identifying a personal credit information principal and determining his / her credit transaction capacity such as information about trial and judgment of the courts or public authorities, delinquencies in taxes or utility bills, resident registration information, and other information held by public authorities.

Information pertaining to any one of the following paragraphs regarding a consignor's funds or securities deposited via an investment trader or investment broker for the purpose of trading in securities in accordance with the Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act.

  • Total deposit amount.
  • Total securities deposited.
  • Total deposited securities by type.
  • Total debt securities by type.
  • Total amount of beneficiary certificates of a collective investment scheme by type passed to the classifications prescribed in each section of Article 229 of the Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act.
  • A consignor's average stock holding period and average number of transactions over a certain period based on the total amount of deposited securities.

Recipients of Customer Information

Entities, subsidiaries, or affiliates of the Hana Financial Group eligible to provide, be provided, and use customer information are Hana Financial Holdings, KEB Hana Bank, Hana Financial Investment, Hana Card, Hana Capital, Hana Life Insurance, Hana Savings, Hana Asset Trust, Hana F&I, and Hana Futures.

Internal Policy Regarding the Protection of Customer Information

To ensure the secure management of customer information, Hana Financial Group provides and uses said information according to strict procedures, management, and supervision as prescribed below.

  • The provision and use of customer information is limited to internal management purposes.
  • One or more officers of an entity, subsidiary, or affiliate have been appointed to ensure all responsibilities concerning the provision and use of customer information.
  • Each entity, subsidiary, or affiliate designates a competent department and personnel to promote systematic and centralized management of information.
  • To ensure strict management and controls, requests for and provision of customer information shall be performed only after receiving the approval of a customer information officer via a written or electronic approval system.
  • Every effort shall be made to protect customer information by granting management over the request, provision, and use of such information to financial holding companies' customer information officers.
  • The establishment and revision of policies regarding the provision and use of customer information shall be announced in two or more daily newspapers and customers shall be notified via the websites of each entity, subsidiary, or affiliate.
  • Each entity, subsidiary, or affiliate maintains a dedicated complaint handling department to provide guidance, consultation, processing, notification of results, and appropriate compensation to customers who suffer damage due to illegitimate or unjust schemes. In addition, customers may obtain remedies via the dispute resolution system of the Financial Supervisory Service.
  • Only persons authorized to provide and manage customer information have access to such information. Customer information is encrypted for transmission, reception, and storage, and a security system has been established for protection against force majeure including natural disasters and external attacks and intrusions. In addition, thorough security measures are being implemented including regular training for executives and employees handling customer information.

With respect to the provision and use of customer information among Hana Financial Group entities, the Group shall in earnest strive to improve the quality of financial services and acknowledge that such actions are for the advancement of South Korea's financial industry. The Group promises to provide more convenient and higher-quality advanced financial services to its customers and adhere to strict management and protection standards regarding customer information.
